The following problems have been observed with the LANtastic(R)
version 5.0 installation program.

1)   LANtastic/AI Single Node Windows Installation - This will NOT
     correctly serialize the Server or Redirector.  Problem report
     #T03526

WORKAROUNDS - Perform a DOS install copy Redir.exe and Server.exe to
a temporary directory and then perform the Windows install.

or

Create a separate subdirectory c:\lantasti\sysfiles, copy Redir.exe
and Server.exe to this directory. Now run the install program.  When
finished server and redir should be correctly serialized.

2)   The remote print program Rpd.exe will not be installed when
     using the 2mbps installation program. It also will not be
     installed if you use the INSTALL UNPACK command.

WORKAROUND - Edit the file Install.fls, and add the line
2 WS RPD.EXE 
to the bottom of the file above the *.
Now run install or INSTALL UNPACK RPD.EXE C:\LANTASTI

3)   We have seen several instances where a CDROM will no longer work
     after running the install program.

WORKAROUND - Delete and recreate the cdrom resource.

4)   We have had several reports that the install will create a large
     seek cache.  If after installation you start getting out of
     memory errors, run NET_MGR and check the seek cache size in
     server startup parameters. Problem report #T03524

5)   LANtastic 2mpbs Windows INSTALL will create a large FILE LOOKUP
     cache.  The value appears to be random, at least 3 users
     reporting this problem are reporting random values. Symptom:
     Server will not load with out of memory errors. Problem Report
     #T03524

WORKAROUND - Run Net_mgr and check FILE LOOKUP Cache.

6)   If PROG-ROM v1.9 is run incorrectly using the IOBASE switch the
     image will report a checksum error on load of NODERUN and REDIR
     will not load from the boot server [will load from a floppy and
     communicate, however]. Problem Report #T03514

WORKAROUND - Run the PROG-ROM program again and DO NOT issue the
IOBASE switch.  Note that this switch should only be used with AE2/C
AE2/T or AE3 adapters when using the Find/Found type of remote
booting.

7)   LANtastic 2mbps Windows INSTALL will put random characters in
     the ACCOUNT SERVERS field in Net_mgr, this will give cannot
     locate network name errors on Login attempts. Problem Report
     #T03525

WORKAROUND - Run Net_Mgr, set Account Server to DISABLED in Server
Startup Parameters.

8)   One cannot RUN the Windows Install from the harddrive - it must
     be run from floppy. Problem Report #T03520
